Harvey Wasserman , author, historian and long time safe energy activist will speak at 7 p.m. Saturday
October 25 at SIT's International Center Dining Room in Brattleboro, VT.

There will be a complimentary light supper proceeding the event from
6-7 p.m.. This event is a benefit for the New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution and donations will be accepted to fund their work.

HARVEY WASSERMAN (http://harveywasserman.com) is author or co-author of a dozen books including SOLARTOPIA! Our Green-Powered Earth, A.D. 2030; Harvey Wasserman's History of the U.S.; and, A Glimpse of the Big Light: Losing Parents, Finding Spirit.

With Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Graham Nash and others, Harvey helped found NukeFree.org, which helped stop a $50 billion federal loan guarantee program proposed by the US reactor industry in fall, 2007.  He edits the NukeFree.org web site, and is senior editor of www.freepress.org.  His articles are posted throughout the internet at www.commondreams.org, HuffingtonPost, Buzzflash, CounterPunch et. al.

With wind pioneer Dan Juhl, Harvey co-authored Harvesting Wind Energy as a Cash Crop: A Guide to Community-Owned Wind Farming (www.danmar.us).  His Farmers Green Power promotes the model of community-based renewables.  

In 1973 he helped pioneer the global grassroots movement against atomic reactors, then helped organize mass demonstrations at Seabrook, N.H., and New York City's 1979 "No Nukes" concerts and rally, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, CSN, James Taylor and others.

With Bob Fitrakis, Harvey helped break many of the major stories surrounding the theft of the 2004 presidential election in Ohio.  Their investigative reporting at www.freepress.org prompted Rev. Jesse Jackson to call them "the Woodward and Bernstein of the 2004 election." Their books include How the GOP Stole America's 2004 Election & Is Rigging 2008, and What Happened in Ohio?, co-authored with Steve Rosenfeld, from the New Press.
